Sounds interesting, but in what terms exactly do you mean? What would be the function of the government? Would it just be for show or would it be the whole hog with legislation of new rules, and general elections and such?

I think it's a cool idea, but I'm with Piix and SeeBread. Figure out the mechanics and I think you might be onto something.

Also, would give us something to build. Every city could have a civic building for councils, etc.

I think it would be fun to have some form of Government / Power, but I'm afraid that complete anarchy would ensue if we cocked it up...

Yeah... And it can't be too complicated, or people will just get annoyed.
So, do we have parties? Or does each town constitute a party?
