Well I think the benefits of the 1.2 update are big enough that a map reset is a good idea. Main builds that took a while can be copied over. Items will be lost. It would be a pain for piix to spawn back every players items (idk maybe he would do it). But if we do update i doubt you guys will get your items back. I'm fine with an update, I actually prefer it. I love starting new worlds.
